The Shore box card

Evelyn here to show you this little box card I made using The Shore cut files.
This set really appealed to me, and I used almost every file in there, except the ship's wheel, I think!
The box itself is made following the simple directions at Splitcoast Stampers, here.  It's challenging and fun to decorate one of these box cards, because there is so much surface area to cover!!  I like the scene I created; it's from the whale's point of view looking towards the shore.
Can you see the tiny fish tail sticking out of the pelican's mouth!?!  Hilarious!!

Hello Summer

Hi crafters, Faith here again. For my project this time, I thought about how wonderful my summer has been, and with the rest of August to enjoy, I'm dreaming of relaxing out in the summer sun, swimming, and reading. Like my card says, Let's Chill. I plan to put this card in my husband's suitcase when we go on vacation next week.

The svg cut file that I used for this is called, Hello Summer, and you can purchase it RIGHT HERE

Aren't these sunglass just adorable. They needed to be the focal point of the card, so I added glitter to the sand and water just to give the sunglasses a little more detail and some sparkle. I found this cute splash zone ribbon and used it to divide the glasses and the sentiments. Of course, I had to put "Relax" on the card, and then in a small stamped sentiment, "Let's Chill". The stamp is from Docerela's stamp set: Summertime.

Back to School Rewards

Good Morning!  Melissa here today to share some reward ideas.  My sister is a 5th grade teacher and likes to reward her kids with special little things when they do well.  I mean, who doesn't like a little treat now and then?  Personally, I'll take chocolate, but....

Michelle released these adorable owls Wise Guys a couple of weeks ago and I am in love!!  They are so darn cute.  So I set out to create these....

I made my own "chalkboards" using my Silhouette Portrait by creating a basic frame.  Then I just cut some black card stock to layer the frame on.  I cut the letters out using a font that I have called Honey Script.

These are a really easy project and I think will be a hit with my sister's students.  Have a great day!  And don't forget to shop - Michelle is having a HUGE retirement sale that will end August 27th.  Grab those favorites for $0.50 each now because they won't be available after the 27th.

Too Cute To Put To Work

Good morning!

The crabs returned for a curtain call! Did you see the beach card made with them here?

I noticed some rather bare looking magnets on the fridge one day...and decided to turn them into cute crabs to pop on the fridge door. They make me smile every time I open the door.

Here they are taking shape on my desk - at this point I did consider using googly eyes for these. That would look cute too!

I added a full size silhouette of chip board at the back, and blackened the edges of the figure before adding the magnets.

And here they are hanging out on the fridge door. They are about 2" tall, but even so rarely go unnoticed!

I shall miss them when they go in hibernation in the cold months.... DT Charne

Halloween Card DT Sue

 Happy Friday!
DT Sue here with a little Halloween card I made this week.
I used two different patterns for this one.
Just click on the names to be taken to each patterns page.
I know I'm a bit early for Halloween..but it has a way of sneaking up on you.
I was at Michael's today and they have all their Halloween stuff out for sale.

I am looking forward to Halloween this year. My great grandson just turned
four and I can't wait to go Trick or Treating with him this year. I always tell him to
remember that the dark chocolate is for GiGi...that's what he calls me.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Indian Princess

Hi!  This is Evelyn from My Little Craft Blog, and it's my day to post here on Designs on Cloud 9.  My card was made using a couple of sets: a retired set called Pretty Princesses 3, A2 Shape Cards, and Hello Sweet Summer for the clouds and grass.  I just love this little Pocahantas girl!

I wanted to show her in a natural setting on the plains somewhere out West.  The wind is blowing her hair and the clouds, and the scalloped shape of the card seems to fit along with the theme.  It has movement.

Thanks for visiting, and happy crafting!!

Watch Your Toes

For my project, I had a lot of fun with the Beach Crabs cutting file. This is such a fun set for summertime projects with these three goofy crabs.

I decided to use the Beach Crab with the sunglasses. I think he's a little mischievous, and he wants to nip your toes. I used a soft yellow dotted patterned paper to get you in a beachy mood, and I smeared glitter glue all along the bottom of his crab legs and into the sides of the paper to further the feeling of sand. Since this guy is is just so goofy, I gave him some goggly eyes. This cutting file was a dream to size and cut. He was perfect for a summertime theme.

Welcome to the Neighborhood

Hello Everyone!  Happy Friday!  Today is my birthday so I am off to the DMV to renew my plates and then I'm taking my kids to Universal.  It'll be a very busy day, indeed.

So today's card is a rather simple one and oh so adorable!!  I love this cut file.  I am featuring Birdhouse Card and the only tricky part about this card is the paper choices.  You can do so much with this just by changing up the paper!  It cuts in minutes, it goes together in minutes.

Not pictured here, but I did add a sentiment inside that says Welcome to the Neighborhood.  I think this is perfect when you have a new neighbor - add it with a plate of homemade chocolate chip cookies - I know I would feel welcomed.

I hope you have a great day and are inspired to try one of these super easy cut files.

Something New

Hi friends! Can you believe that it is time for the kiddos to go back to school already? It seems like just yesterday when the weather was starting to warm and summer was here. While we still have some hat days ahead, especially here in the South, Fall is just around the corner.

Here is the new file for the week, just in time for some school days memories...
Have a crafty day! -Michelle

Enjoying The Summer

Paper crafting is a fun, easy and cheap way to decorate. I like to make little accent pieces for a window sill, a shelf or a corner table. I thought a pop up box card would make a cute little piece too. Although my little box can still be folded it has little pieces that stick out, so mailing it is not so practical. However it does make it super easy to pack away at the end of summer and to store safely until next year!

I used bits and pieces from Surf Shack

I know it will make me smile all over again when I unpack it next summer!

Good Afternoon All!
I wanted to share with you a vertical border I made using the Apple of my Eye
cutting file from Designs on Cloud 9. I'm looking forward to fall and the cooler weather.
Each fall my daughter and I go to Apple Hill here in the foothills. We buy boxes of apples. We can some and others we make some delicious goodies with!  This was the inspiration for this cute border.

You can find the pattern for this  Here
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
Thank you for stopping by today.
