Ready for Winter?

Nope..neither am I! But I thought it prudent to get some cards and decor items ready regardless!
I plan on making a set of penguin cards just to use for  quick note or a cheery card to brighten up someone's day. Here is the first one.

I used a file from Just Chillin

And then I went ahead and made the same image into a fridge magnet.

I made extra snowflakes a little smaller so I could stack them to get a bit more dimension for my magnet.

Let Summer Linger

This is not a new card, but I thought I would share it with you anyway, just because it captures the feel of summer so nicely.

It was a card for company who visited with us in the summer. The writing was done with the Cameo and coloured with colour pencils. The card is striking in it's simplicity.

I used the Hibiscus cut files for the card, just rearranging the elements to suit the card's orientation.

Decorating For Fall

I was wanting to make a decorating item, that would work equally well on a corner table and in the dining room for added colour and 'atmosphere' as the evenings get darker and cooler.
Maple leaves and sunflowers seemed an obvious choice!
I cut the leaves using the "Leaves" cut files. I coloured these with inks and water colours to give them more dimension.

I also added some blue feathers (that might have come from a Stellar's Jay), using the 'Feathers' cut files. These I likewise coloured with inks and water colours.

I got the cut files for the little lantern from another site, and the stand and wood from hubby's workshop.

Here is my final piece :

All I now need to do is add the LED tealight and my decor piece is ready!
I like how versatile cut files are, the sky is -almost- the limit with regards to what one can do with them.

Cute and Cool Christmas cards

These Cute and Cool penguins were perfect for making a few Christmas cards.  Just look at those happy faces!!

These little birds were so easy to assemble.  Of course, I cut out a few extra to use on wintry scrapbook pages or to adhere to pouches of hot chocolate mix for little gifts.  Hope they inspired you!

Back to School Rewards - Part 2

Hi everyone!  Melissa here to share a couple more rewards that I've made for my sister.  Michelle was kind enough to create two more owls that I had suggested for this project.  I love love lovey them!  She introduced Nerdy Owl and Recess Owl last week.  So cute!!

This one is Recess Owl.  The talk bubble is just a generic talk bubble I found on the Silhouette Online Store and I did the letters with my own fonts.  I did adhere a double layer of clear plastic so that it appeared to be floating.

And here's Nerdy Owl.  Now he does come with word panels for the monitor and keyboard but I omitted those so that I could customize the wording.  The reward is 10 minutes free electronic time, but I couldn't fit all that, so I went with what you see.

My sister totally loves these and I think it's so much fun that she designed her classroom with owls this year and I didn't even know it.  These little guys will fit right in!

Be sure to pick these guys up during the after Labor Day Sale!

Hugs,

It is Fun to Learn!

A young friend of ours started school this year! His family was very proud of him as he bravely and excitedly started on this new adventure. I thought a little card of encouragement would not go amiss, seeing as we were not able to be there in person with a hug, kiss and best wishes.

These little owls are simply adorable. (they will make great magnets too...oh dear, what have I started?!?) You can find the file here : Wise Guys
