Tuesday tip and a new file...

It's Tuesday tip time again! I was given a camera by a very gracious pal of mine and I can't wait to try it out and make some more tutorials!

I am going to share a tip today that I haven't shared before... we're talking top secret here! lol The eyes and faces of your paper piecing characters are perhaps the most important features to making a cute piecing. I shared before about how I cut a ton of eyes in different sizes and store them so they are handy when I need them. I hate to have to cut those little eyes each time I cut a character out. But, what I didn't share is what eyes I use... I use the egg shape from the 'Doodlcharms' Cricut cartridge.

You would think that a 3/4 inch egg would be too large for the typical sized piecing, but remember that the cartridges put shapes in reference to each other, so the 3/4 or 1 inch egg is the perfect size for most faces. I also cut them using the shadow feature to get slightly larger eyes.

So, if you hate to cut little eyes each time you cut out characters, try cutting a batch of different sizes to have on hand. Even if you don't have the cartridge I mentioned, you can still find an eye shape you like and cut some out ahead of time.   I hope this helps you some and maybe saves you a little time when cutting and piecing your cuties together!
Here is a new file available at www.designsoncloud9.com!

Happy Scrapping!
