Being Thankful

Good Morning everyone!  Happy (day-after) Thanksgiving.  I hope you enjoyed your holiday yesterday.  I have one final Fall card to share with you.  I'm getting into all Christmas projects now.

This card features Thanks card and Fall Leaves files.  I incorporated the Charles embossing folder by Cuttlebug and I love the results.  The card is simple, the card is natural.  It's just so warm and I love it.

I hope this inspires you to look at each of the cut files available with different eyes.  The Thanks card actually looks very Spring-y with flowers.  Remove some pieces and substitute with others.  Elevate a simple card with texture and natural twine.

Have a wonderful day!

Hugs,

Home for the Holidays

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

Evelyn from My Little Craft Blog here.  I'm not quite ready to hear Christmas carols on the radio yet, but my favorite is There's No Place Like Home for the Holidays.  I sure do love a warm house filled with people I love!

My project today is craft room decor.  I have a picture frame filled with photos of my family in my craft room, and I like to decorate it for the seasons.  I was inspired by this little DC9 file, which was a freebie a few weeks ago:

It's called Wreath with Candle.  It made me want to put it on a door. I went in search of a house to put it on and found this beautiful mansion, Fright Night:

I straightened out the shutters, omitted the spiderweb and widow's walks, chose bright papers and came up with this:

I had so much fun making this, and it looks great in my craft room!

I did get that adorable inspiration wreath on the door, minus the candle, using print and cut.  It's fun to follow your inspirations and to look at things in a different way.  I like how the haunted house turned out to be perfect for my Home for the Holidays project!

Enjoy the season!

Penguin Fridge Magnet

The little penguin magnet I made some time ago, ( See the post HERE) was looking rather lonely on the fridge door. It was high time he had a friend.

I used a cut file from Fun On The Ice

And here is how it turned out. Very cute indeed!

...and now they can keep each other company on the fridge ;-)

Scarecrow card

Hi!  Evelyn from My Little Craft Blog here to show you a cute scarecrow card I recently made.  I was inspired by this file, Fall Scarecrow.
I loved everything about it, and when I saw it I knew I wanted to make a fall scene card out of it because it reminded me of fall activities we used to attend when my children were young.  The farms we used to go to were always decorated with scarecrows and had pumpkins, hay bales, and dried up sunflowers all over.  Side step cards are perfect for making little scenes like this.

I used everything except the apples!  I ran the hay bale through my Cuttlebug to give it some texture.

Here is the card I made:

Don’t you love that sweet crow?  How funny that the crow is sitting on the scarecrow’s arm and stealing some of his stuffing!!  Too cute . . .

Decorating for Fall

Hello DC9 fans!  I have created a super fun Fall decoration and now I feel it's a bit late since I'm seeing so many parts of the US being bombarded with cold and snow.  My sister said the other day that it was -2 in Denver.  Bleh!  Temps like that make me happy that I live in Florida.  It gets cold here, too, but I think the lowest low I've had to experience is 27 degrees.

Anyway, for those of us still feeling Fall, here's a decoration I created using Silly Scarecrow (on the Silhouette Online store I think he's called Cute Scarecrow - and if you want to purchase him, I would suggest directly in the shop because you get a few more pieces for the same price).

I purchased the small sized straw bale from Walmart, cut the wires that bind it and removed about 1/4 from the side and then tied up with jute.  This is a messy process, but the results are great.  I glued the bale to some scrap cardboard and then glued some extra straw pieces to around it to camouflage the cardboard.  The scarecrow I glued to a bamboo skewer, poked a hole and then filled it with hot glue and then adhered the scarecrow.  For the pumpkins, I did the same thing but with toothpicks.  I made the sign post myself, it's not included in the file.

Super easy and looks great on my entry-way table.  I hope you like my project and thank you so much for stopping by.

Warm Fall Wishes

These little owls looked so cozy and cute on their branch that I thought they would make a great 'Warm Wishes For a Cozy Autumn' card. I added chalks, coloured pencil a little bit of glitter glue for detail. The cloud was a last minute hand cut addition.

The owls, the branch and some foliage are from the I Love Owls cut set.

The banner and the rest of the foliage are from Floral Banners

And the card base is from the A2 Shape Cards set

Christmas Cards from DC9 "Joy"

Hello crafty friends! Are you looking forward to the weekend? I know I am, two whole days to scrap! I wanted to share a couple of cards I made this past week. It's not too early or too late to start on your Christmas cards. I made both of these in under an hour.

I found this paper at the Scrapbook Expo I attended a few weeks ago. I loved that I could use it inside the card and it had it's own natural lines.

I like this one so much I decided to make another one. I changed it around a little, used a different themed paper. I have seen a lot of this color combination in the craft stores for Christmas. Have to say, I love the blue with red, it's really stunning!

You can find the pattern for this cute card Joy card on the Designs on Cloud 9 page.
The patterns are so affordable and easy to use. I was able to made two cards from a 12"x12" paper.  The patterned paper is from a stack of 6"x6" paper. I used two sheets for each card.  You could dress them up more, but I wanted something simple this time around.
Thanks for stopping by today and I wish you all a fantastic weekend!

Baby Giraffe mini album

Hello!  Evelyn from My Little Craft Blog here to share my most recent baby mini album with you.
I had a bunch of leftover stickers for the inside pages, but I wanted the cover to be special.  There were so many adorable baby files files to choose from at Designs on Cloud 9!  It was so hard to choose.  There is a baby whale, lion, duck, elephant, and hippo but I finally went with the Baby Giraffe file.  The word baby is from Baby Mine Title file.

The files contain the mommy and the baby.  This little sweetie is the baby.  I love how her nostrils and tail are hearts!!  Come visit me at My Little Craft Blog if you'd like to see the inside pages.

All you need is love...

For this project, I used the Designs on Cloud 9 card file, Designer Love Card. You can purchase that HERE. I just love the way the sentiment is framed. This card file is fantastic for quick last minute card. Change the sentiment if you want. Use different colors or patterns. I will definitely be using the sentiment frame in other projects.
