Snow Squares

When I downloaded these beautiful (and still free!) 2 x 2 inch Snow Squares, I had to make them right away!  My original thought was to print and cut and make quick 3x3 cards, but I got interrupted and they just sat on my desk for awhile.  I had already cut out the squares and as they lay upon each other on my desk, a thought occurred to me.  They looked like a snowflake!  I used the knife tool in Silhouette design studio to separate the borders, then I cut them out as frames in a navy blue.  I came up with this:

The other thing I saw on my desk was the print and cut of the Snow Cute Girl from this post.  When I made that card, I cut and assembled the svg but I also print and cut the file because I wasn't sure which format I wanted to use for that card.  I love pink and blue together, so I placed her on top to see if I liked the look.  I did!!

I now have a very cute, seasonally appropriate decoration for my craft room window!

Happy Birthday!

Good morning!  Thank you for stopping by.  I hope your week is going well, I know I'm ready for the weekend.

Today I have a card to share with you.  I'm sort of "over" packaging at the moment, give me another week to recuperate from all that I did over Christmas.

My card features the following files from Designs on Cloud 9.

• A2 Shape Cards
• Sweet Birthday Bears

I did create a mat by copying the card base and then sizing it down until it looked good.  The I used the eraser tool to remove the bottom portion of the card and with the line tool I drew in a new cut line for the top.  This was I was able to do the embossing I had in mind.  I cut the bear out of regular card stock, he does come with cheeks but I didn't realize that's what they were until too late.  So I colored cheeks on him using the R11 Copic marker.  I cut his balloons from vellum and colored the back with Copic markers.  Then I tied black thread to the balloons and adhered to his paw.

Super easy card to celebrate a child's birthday!  I hope you enjoyed.  Have a good day.

I am happiest

I wanted to create a Valentine's Day card using a large heart stencil, but didn't have one.  Instead of searching for one to purchase, I used one of  Love Life Cards SVG file to create my own stencil.  It's a one time use unless you manage to cut on a sturdy plastic. I used scrap paper and it worked just fine.

With a simple function in SCAL2, I was able to create the stencil, here's a screenshot:

I added glitter and helped the drying with the heating tool.  I stamped the sentiment with Pink & Main's Flower Bouquet Greetings stamp set.

Good Evening all!
 I'm under the weather today so I'm a bit late with my post. I hope you all had a fantastic holiday season.
I want to share a layout with you for Valentines day. I'm making a one year album for my Great Granddaughter, one picture a month. Here is February's.

I have always loved Michelle's little bears, so cute! So for this one I used the "Little Love Bug" pattern. You can find it Here. It was very easy to make and didn't take much time. I found some fun heart glitter foamies at the dollar store and used them to add a little extra bling.

Birthday Card

It’s a new year and that means another round of birthday cards are needed! That is quite fine by me as I get to experiment more and try more techniques and products while (hopefully) bringing a smile and a hug to the recipients!

First for this year : this birthday card.

 I started with a white card base which I sprayed lightly with 2 shades of green alcohol inks to provide a fitting backdrop for the roses. I added a border to the card set with a file from Betsy’s Borders. All the cut files are by Designs on Cloud 9

Snow Cute Girl (retired)

Evelyn from My Little Craft Blog here. My friend from work is celebrating her daughter's adoption day, so I looked through my files to find a cute little girl to use on a card and found this adorable bear.  Even though the Snow Cute Girl file is retired, I just had to show you how cute it turned out!

I made the file two ways, paper piecing and print-and-cut.  The print-and-cut is being saved for a future project and I used the paper piecing on my Adoption Day card.

The font is Hobo Std, and all the papers are scraps from my stash.

I chalked around all the edges and put two little pearls on my sentiment strip.

Any of the cute DC9 winter creatures would also work for a winter birthday or adoption day!

Just a Note

DT Member Faith here. 

For my project this week, I really wanted to go with a vintage feel. My mom just loves this style, and I thought this would be a cute card for her - a just because card. I used the Feathers cutting file. This file is perfect because there are so many feathers to choose from. I used a patterned paper from the DCWV Timeless Type stack and a sentiment from the Sweet & Sassy Keep in Touch stamp set. For details about this card, visit my blog, The Crafting Professor.
