Altered Tag

Hello Crafty Friends! Just stopping by to share with you all something a little different. An altered tag I made using DC9's Doo Dads 1. This is a great file to get to add an industrial flavor to your projects. It's an awesome addition to your "GUY" artillery. All the gears, keys, locks, and nuts & bolts are included in the set (sorry, crown not included).

Now, don't get me wrong this file is not just for the man in our life... oh no, it also adds a touch of whimsy to girly layouts as well. Just check out this Alice in Wonderland inspire layout I also made using the Doo Dads 1 file.

Two great looks... 1 great file!

Hope this inspires you to play with your Doo Dads!!
Happy Crafting!

Hello!

This is Evelyn from My Little Craft Blog.  It's my day to post here on Designs on Cloud 9!  The card I made for today's post uses a really versatile file, the Sunshine Card.  I love the sun's rays; they add a really inspiring design element that is wonderful for a background for almost any kind of card.

I wanted this card to simply say Hello!  I made a set of these note cards to give as a gift.  I used this file, the flowers from our Thanks Card, and the Hello speech bubble from our Greeting Bubbles set.  The font is so fun!!

I have fun combining elements from different sets to see what I come up with!  Hope you enjoyed my cards today!

Gingerbread Christmas

Good Morning!  I have a Christmas Layout to share with you today.  I used several different files on this layout:
North Pole Sign (Gumdrops)
Santa Penguin (Gift)
Christmas Bears (Standing Gingerbread Boy & Girl)
Sweet Decorations (Tree & Heart Peppermints)
Gingerbread Express (Gingerbread peeker & peppermint candies)

I ran the gumdrops through the xryon and then dipped them in chunky Diamond Dust glitter to give them a sugar look that gumdrops have.

Thanks for looking.

Hello Merlot

For my project this week, I had a lot of fun with the Cocktails cutting file. There are hundreds of possibilities with this cutting file. I love the sentiment and the layering that goes with it, but I wanted to make a card with a happy hour drink. Which to choose from?

To make the glass, I used Vellum. Surprisingly I remember this sheet of patterned paper by Recollections, Bold Basics stack, and it was just perfect. The colors match, and it looks like a bit of bubbly.

Feathers and Earthy Fun

Hello Everyone!  Happy Friday!!  I am so glad today is here and let me tell you why.... Because I have a great card to share with you today featuring the beautiful Feathers cut file.  OK - first of all, I totally CASEd this card.  I found it on Pintrest and wanted to make something similar.

I really love the natural, organic look to this card.  I cut the feathers from a sepia vellum that my sister gave me years ago, the ruffle is from Michael and it's much more ruffle-y when it's not glued down.  This card would be great for both a guy or a gal.  I just love it!!  I hope you do, too.

Have a happy Friday.
Hugs,
Melissa, DT

You're Such a Hoot!

Good Tuesday morning to you! We're so glad you dropped by at The Cloud9 blog today.

When I saw the 'You're A Hoot' set in the Designs on Cloud 9 store, I immediately recalled a recent conversation I had with a friend. We were joking around and I thought to myself 'You're such a hoot!' She has the most wonderful sense of humour and I knew this card will have to be for her. The little girl owl looks so quiet and demure on the outside....

but on the inside there is so much colour, life and FUN!

Go ahead and send a card to that special person who brightens your day with her/his fun personality!

Till next time...happy paper crafting!

Baby's First Thanksgiving

Hello Crafty Friends! I'm Sue, an old and new design team member.  I am sharing with you today a page I made for my Great Granddaughter's First Year Book. I will be taking a picture of her each month, starting the month she is born (September) and add it to the album. At the end of her first year I will be giving it to her Mom as a gift. This is the page for November.

As you can see there is more to the pattern than just the cute little Turkey. I've made this pattern as a vertical border and it worked great! You can find the patter First Thanksgiving here.  Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend!

To the Moon

Hello again here is another fun layout that can be made for both a girl or a boy using the Space Cadet file from Designs on Cloud 9. I used some mirror paper in the title as well as the UFO and spaceship. I also used glitter to add a little more to the planet. Thanks for looking -DT Devana

Programmed For Trouble

Hello guys I made this 2 page layout using the Robots file from Designs on Cloud 9 I love this file and it has been really popular. It is super easy to cute and put together as well. Hope you enjoy the layout. DT Devana

Wish Big - Monster Birthday Card

Hello Crafty Friends! I'm sharing a cute monster birthday card today using Designs onCloud 9's Monster Birthday file set. My daughter will be turning 7 and I thought this would make a cute card for her. Monsters don't only have to be for boys! Change the colors of the monsters or add a bow and presto... instant girl monster! I chose this particular monster because I loved how it has it's arms stretched WIDE open like giving a big hug. And I just adore those cute little bucky teeth!

I also added cupcakes and balloons(which are also included in the set) to tie into the whole birthday theme. I simply tied bakers twine to each balloon and gathered the strings and glued them down onto the monster's hand and topped it with a little bow. I added pop dots under the sentiment, balloons, cupcakes, & monster to make them three dimensional.

This card measures at 5"X7".

Thanks for stopping by & Happy Crafting!

Birdhouse box card

Hello, Crafters!  This is Evelyn, another new Design Team member for Designs on Cloud 9.   So happy to be here!  This is one of those little box cards you've been seeing everywhere.  I made mine using directions found at Splitcoast Stampers.  They're very easy to follow.

The elements I used to decorate my box card are from our Hello Sweet Summer set.
These files cut perfectly even though I made them so TINY!!
Here are the little flower pots on the sides:
I used the acetate from an old Cricut cartridge packaging to mount my elements on.  It makes it look like the birds are flying!

This is a great set -- perfect for spring and summer.  While I had it open, I cut out LOTS of grass to use on future projects.  :)

See the column on the right -----> to sign up for our email newsletter.  There's a free file every week!
