Surf Shack

Welcome crafters. I hope you are ready for a productive crafting weekend. Today I want to share with you a project I made using the Surf Shack cutting files. I fell in love with the actual surf shack and decided to turn it into a card. I enlarged the base and then duplicated it and wielded the two pieces together using my Cricut Explore.

Next, I added the chair and surf boards to create a scene around the surf shack. Since I was using my Cricut Explore which now has a writing function, I decided to add some graffiti to the wooden board (mine and my husband's initials) and added the title on the door. And finally, I took chalk to all the elements to give it a worn look.

This is a fantastic (and fun) set of SVG files. You don't want to miss out!!!

Welcome Home

Hello Everyone!  My name is Melissa Craig and I am one of the newest DT Members of Designs on Cloud 9.  I am so super stoked to be on this team.  My sister gave me a Silhouette Portrait for Christmas and it was love at first sight!  I am really happy that I have the opportunity to play with my machine and use these super cute cut files.

My card is an easel card featuring Spring Birdhouses.  I enlarged the birdhouse shape quite a bit so it nearly created the entire front of A2 sized card.  I cut the little bird out twice.  My only regret, I should've used the other little bird in the set rather than the same one.  But all in all, it's a perfect "Welcome Home" card to give someone who maybe just moved or perhaps has returned home after an extended stay away.

My card also features a label from Artisan Labels.  I created the greeting on my computer and printed it out on card stock and then cut out using an oval cutter.

I hope you enjoy my easel card and don't forget to pick up this week's freebie!  Happy Friday!

Been Feeling Crabby?

Good Tuesday morning to you all!
To me a cold or flu in the summer always seems to be so much worse than during the colder months, so I figured a fun and slightly silly card may put the smile on the face of an unlucky sufferer.

I used the crab from "Fin-Tastic Friends". The writing was done with a pen in the Silhouette Cameo and coloured in using coloured pencils.

After I wiped the smile (literally!) from his face, I put him on a patch of sand taken from Surf Shack (under the 'Beach' sign)

I like the slight dimension created on the image by the layered cut-outs.

Hopefully my sad little crab will add a bright moment to my unfortunate friend's day!

Thank you for stopping by the blog today!
